St. John Village Grand Opening

St. John Village has officially opened, and we were delighted to attend the Renaissance Neighborhood Development Corporation’s grand opening.
Our team is proud to have provided architectural services to St. John Village along with Provias Construction LLC and we are delighted that this development is now open to our community.
Saint John Village in Covington is an apartment community consisting of eighty-two and three-bedroom cottages. These homes have achieved Bronze Certification under the National Green Building Standard by following sustainable practices. Some of these practices include enhanced energy efficiency, improved indoor air quality, improved material efficiency, and improved water efficiency.
The homes are sealed to reduce air infiltration, with air conditioning optimized for this greater efficiency, and thermostats with humidity control. Lighting is LED throughout the development. Indoor air quality is improved by exhausting air from cooking and showering to the outside, by the use of low and no VOC paints, flooring, and cabinets. Engineered fire-resistant sheathing and the use of prefabricated trusses reduce material use and lumber waste. Lastly, water efficiency is improved through using Water Sense certified fixtures with lower flow rates. These building strategies reduce energy and water costs for residents, lowering the overall cost of living in their homes.
Homes are also optimized for aging in place, with zero step entries, wide doorways, and lever door hardware. Twenty percent of the homes are designed for greater accessibility for residents with mobility impairments.
St. John Village is not only affordable, but it is also efficient, more accessible, and has many amenities on site. These include a community garden, computer work center, exercise rooms, playground, picnic area, and walking path. It is a great place for families to call home.
